Five spice pork with hoisin sauce

Just a few simple ingredients are combined to create this delicious Asian-style pork.

  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 200°C. Combine hoisin with the oil. Brush the mixture over the pork fillets and sprinkle with the five spice powder.

  2. Step 2

    Place on a wire rack in a baking dish and cook for 15-20 mins or until cooked through.

  3. Step 3

    While the pork is cooking, steam the bok choy. To serve, slice the pork and serve with bok choy and extra hoisin.

  4. Step 4

    Sprinkle with sliced green onion if desired.

Chinese hoisin sauce can be used as a dipping sauce and an ingredient in stir-fries and marinades. Five spice powder is usually made up of star anise, ginger root, cinnamon, cloves and fennel seeds.
